Field of application The Spinnanker can be successfully used in different geologies. Inappropriate is only hard rock. The field of application is mainly non-cohesive (e.g. sandy gravel) till cohesive (e.g. clayey silt) ground. But it is not limited to this - the Spinnanker was effectually used in snow and ice stream. The bearing load is addicted to the kind of stressing (compressive force, drag force or horizontal force) and the condition of soil. Normally the hauled load is between 20 to 200 kN which is equivalent to 2 to 20 tons. Research project The technique of the Spinnanker was proven, in the context of extensive research projects, by well-respected academic institutes. Besides some basic studies a simulation of the rupture load was done. The several done pull-out tests are in accordance with the experimental data. We did all kinds of stressing - compressive force, drag force and horizontal force. The results convinced the scientists. Immediate load-bearing, above-average load acceptance and high residue load are just some positive aspects. The Spinnanker foundation is proven and safe. Factors of influence The main factor for the load bearing behaviour is the bulk density respectively the ductility of the ground. The load transfer into the ground is primary resulted by the activated pile adhesion and the group effect of the treaded rods.
