Three municipalities (Saint-Amable, Sainte-Julie and Varennes) responded to the growing demand for indoor turf sports facilities by coming together to offer their citizens a high-quality, multi-sports center that combines simplicity, functionality and aesthetics. The Lamba-Lainco consortium was responsible for the design and delivery of this center as a turnkey construction. The center offers indoor, year round opportunities for soccer, baseball, softball, rugby, Ultimate Frisbee, football, bocce ball, running tracks, driving ranges for golf and batting cages. The soccer stadium has a FIFA regulation sized field with artificial grass for 11 vs 11 players (for professional games) that can be divided into 2 fields for 9 vs 9 matches or 4 fields for 7 vs 7 player matches. In addition to the sports facilities, this energy efficient and sustainable building has a public mezzanine viewing area, fitness training room, changing rooms for teams, 2 cloakrooms, a ticket office, a 1,200 SQ. FT multi-purpose room for meetings and a food court. The integrated design of this Regional Multi-Sports Center provided significant economic benefits in layout, building mechanics and materials.
