This design & build project was a joint venture constructed by the Ronam-Lainco consortium. The project’s main goal was to provide the city of Edmundston with a distinctively designed amphitheater so to attract and host major cultural and sporting events such as trade shows, on ice activities, festivals and other types of exhibitions. In an ice configuration, the amphitheater seats 2,400 and has an NHL regulation sized ice rink (200ftx85ft). It can be converted for concerts or shows into various stage configurations and accommodate 3 680 spectators with fixed and retractable seating areas. State-of-the-art acoustic and theater systems have been carefully selected to provide top-notch sound and light experiences. Live performances and on-ice events are further enhanced by an innovative structural ceiling design with immense height clearance. This copyright-protected concept (owned by Lainco) eliminates the need for obstructive columns and hence increases spectator visibility. The amphitheater also offers dressing rooms, a media area, corporate lodges, training rooms, office space, a restaurant and bar, storage space for sports equipment and much more to provide an unparalleled experience for visiting patrons.
