Coils and Sheets

RHEINZINK has been been manufacturing "Made in Germany", high-quality coils and sheets and distributing them the world over since the 1960's.  Our semi-finished products are manufactured in Datteln, Germany according to specifications EN 988 - "Zinc and zinc alloys".  Coils and sheets are the basic material used for our roof and facade systems as well as our complete gutter program.  Given the practical options for processing and design offered by our product, many installers use our coils and sheets when fabricating their own roofing and facade profiles.

The selection of semi-finished goods:

  • Four product lines:  RHEINZINK-PATINA, PROTECT, COLOR and INTERIEUR Product Lines
  • Standard metal thickness from 0.7mm, 0.8mm, 1.00mm, 1.2mm and 1.5mm
  • Sheet width up to 39.4"
  • Coils up to 3 tons in weight

RHEINZINK undergoes continuous, voluntary monitoring by the external inspection of the TÜV Rheinland.  This recognized German monitoring board has developed its own quality label for zinc as a building material. A catalog of quality criteria lists all characteristic data for the material and permitted tolerances for the quality of the semi-finished product (coils and sheets). Certification of RHEINZINK meets ASTM B-69-13 Type 1 and Type 2 for Architectural Rolled Zinc.  Type 1 is for prePATINA blue-grey and prePATINA bright rolled zinc. Type 2 is for prePATINA graphite-grey zinc.  Currently, RHEINZINK is the ONLY zinc manufacturer with a Type 2 designation.

Monitoring is carried out every two months by an inspector from TÜV Rheinland, who arrives at the plant, unannounced.  Inspections focus on the quality characteristics going beyond the requirements of the standard, e.g. reduced deviation in the permitted thickness of only ±0.020 mm, reduced length / width tolerances of +2.0/-0 mm and increased proof stress (Rp 0.2).
