Southface Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is a leader in sustainable advocacy, building, planning and operations across the U.S. With a mission to create a healthy and equitably built environment for all, Southface’s consulting services, workforce development, research and policy practices are supporting better homes, workplaces and communities. Experts in the fields of resource efficiency, building tech and organizational sustainability since 1978, Southface is committed to building a regenerative economy to meet tomorrow’s needs today.
Lifecycle Building Center (LBC) is a nonprofit in Atlanta which captures discarded building materials for reuse. Our programs include a Material Reuse Center & Store which provides new & used building materials at 50-85% off retail; Deconstruction & Pickup Services, through which our staff directly remove or pick up materials; Educational Classes that provide the skills needed to execute home improvement projects and a Nonprofit Material MATCH program which donates materials to nonprofits.
Since 2011, LBC has diverted 5M pounds of materials from landfills, awarded 194 material grants, and saved the community over $3 million through discounted & free materials.
